What exercise do you do to stay fit?

Exercise and fitness has always been a part of my life from childhood and I was lucky enough to reach elite level early in life in both GAA and soccer. Because of this and the intensity of training and matches, my workload is a very detailed planning schedule to allow for peak performance, rest and recovery.

In my spare time to remain fit and connect with friends I really enjoy walking, hiking, cycling and, when possible, I love doing this in different and scenic locations.

What do you eat to stay healthy?

To stay healthy, I eat a varied and balanced diet. It’s built around my training demands and requirements. We have a nutritionist at the club to help all our preparations. An example of my plate is 50% carbohydrates, 30% protein and 20% healthy fats.

I’m not a fussy eater, so anything really, as long as it’s healthy. My preferences are rice, pasta, sweet potatoes, chicken and salmon. My favourite greens are broccoli, spinach, and peas.

Protein snacks are very important for recovery and my favourites are Skyr or Greek yoghurt with some peanut butter and fruit. I also enjoy eating out and trying various cuisines and foods including Italian and Chinese.

Do you take any supplements?

I am very conscious of any supplements I use for obvious sporting reasons and before I take anything I ensure a very detailed review of the ingredients is undertaken.

I have been using Revive Active products for the past few years and Zest Active and Joint Complex are part of my daily routine. I am assured by these Revive Active products as they are Informed Sport Certified, and I know they are of the highest standard. The benefits I have seen from them, as well as their great taste and easy to mix sachets, are that my body reacts positively to the times I take the sachets. This supports my hectic schedule between trainings, matches, study and travelling.
