What have you been doing lately Rosanna?

I have three toddlers, so it’s busy. Our daughter was born by gestational surrogate in 2019 and I gave birth to the boys in October 2020. They keep me on my toes and routine is really important. When Covid happened and we had lockdowns a lot of the clients I worked with as an ambassador moved online, so I was able to keep working while at home with the children. It has been trickier to attend events and my husband and I haven’t been away together in about four years, but it’s not forever.

What do you eat to stay healthy?

I have always been conscientious with my health, but since I became a mother I have really taken care of myself. I am obsessed with getting enough sleep, even though it doesn’t always happen! And stress management is important. In the evenings I sometimes need to sit quietly and rest my brain and body.

Food wise I follow a plant-based diet which I find really works for me. I make smoothies with protein powder and vegetables like avocadoes. I like fibre-rich fruit and vegetables like sweet potatoes, lentils and chickpeas and I love soups. My mum drops round with a stew sometimes, which is great.

How have the children changed your cooking habits?

Kids have simple tastes and it’s not hard to cook for them. This morning I made pancakes with oats, banana and egg. They like fruit, cheese, toast and pasta. They love salmon and eggs so sometimes I make an omelette or cook salmon in the oven. One of my sons likes broccoli which I cook in coconut oil and my daughter loves truffle cheese. They like nuts and seeds and smoothies. The boys will try anything, and when I weaned them I introduced lots of colours and textures even though they didn’t eat them right away.

What exercise do you do to stay fit?

Pushing twins around a hilly local park is an exercise itself! We have a small home gym where I do a workout two or three times a week and try to fit in one or two Pilates classes locally every week.

Do you take any natural supplements?

I take vitamins B12 and D3. I have been taking Udo’s Choice Super 8 Immune Microbiotics since I went to college in 2011 when it was recommended to me by a lecturer. I take gut health very seriously because I studied nutrition and learned that if you look after your intestines you have more energy and your immune system works better. We really like Super 8 Immune in our house as it also contains vitamin C, so we don’t need to take that as well. We all take them. I put the Udo’s Choice Infant’s blend in smoothies for the kids.

Udo’s Choice Super 8 Immune is a high count microbiotic blend that contains eight strains of lacto and bifido bacteria. Each daily capsule contains 42 billion friendly bacteria.

Do you have any tips for Rude Health readers?

It’s hard to be too specific because people are different, but I think it’s good to follow a wholefoods diet and focus on fibre. Gut health is so essential to our health.

A great place to begin is to take a good daily microbiotic.

Low sugar fermented food is good for the gut – I take two servings of sauerkraut and liquid non-dairy kefir every day.

I aim to have about 30 different plant foods in a week which includes fruit and vegetables, herbs and spices, nuts and seeds etc.

Try to minimise the amount of refined foods with sugar and flour that you eat.
